Prentresultaat vir international organisation for migration

ADDIS ABABA, Nov.23 (Xinhua) –TIn a press statement, the IOM said, the Ethiopian migrants all of whom are male, were provided with transportation allowance and accommodation at the UN migration center in Addis Ababa upon their arrival on Friday afternoon.

It is estimated thousands of Ethiopians are trafficked to Djibouti every year on transit to reach the Arabian Peninsula.he UN migration agency, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), announced on Saturday it has returned home 113 Ethiopians from Djibouti.

Many of the Ethiopian migrants are left stranded in Djibouti by the human traffickers who take all their monetary properties leaving them destitute in the horn of Africa country.

Some of the Ethiopian migrants are subsequently arrested for illegal entry spending months and in some cases years in Djiboutian prisons.

Every year, the IOM in collaboration with the Ethiopian government and the Djiboutian authorities return home hundreds of stranded Ethiopian migrants.
